Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?
Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?

So, it's February. What better time to read a romantic title than right now? Of course, I am late (as usual) and evryone and their mother has read this book. But I'm sure some of you haven't read it and will appreciate this book review (right? *hopeful face*). Anywho, this book is NOT what I expected but it is still good all the same!

The Good: I REALLY like Oliver's charcter throughout the book. He has a great sense of humor and such a wonderful personaility. I also like the whole meeting in an airport and falling in love deal. It is very sweet and cutesy and just.. AGH. Love it. I aslo really enjoyed the relationship growth between Hadley and her father. Hadley also grows a lot and actually learns to live with change.

The plot was also REALLY interesting. Ilove the character's physical journey throughout the book. I feel like I am the character and that I am a seeing and feeling everything that the character is seeing and feeling, which is pretty awesome!

The Bad: I was really hoping/expecting a cutesy, gushy romace so when that wasn't the case I was kind of disappointed. The book is more so about Hadley's relationship with her father than the actual romance between her and Oliver. I kind of wish that it at least had a different title if it wasn't mainly about a romance.

Over all, this book deserves a... 3.5 stars! I thught that this book was OK and would reccomend it but it definitely wasn't one of my favorites. It was short but it still managed to take me 5 days to read it. If you don't mind a "romance" book without a TON of romance, pick this book up but if you want a full on romance, this book might not be up your ally.

Review: Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

Title: Warm Bodies

Stand Alone or Series: Series

R is a young man with an existential crisis--he is a zombie. He shuffles through an America destroyed by war, social collapse, and the mindless hunger of his undead comrades, but he craves something more than blood and brains. He can speak just a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse. Just dreams.

After experiencing a teenage boy's memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and strangely sweet relationship with the victim's human girlfriend. Julie is a burst of vibrant color in the otherwise dreary and gray landscape that R lives in. His decision to protect her will transform not only R, but his fellow Dead, and perhaps their whole lifeless world.

So, a lot of book reviewers have been coming out with reviews on Warm Bodies because of the fact that it has been turned into a movie. This is one of the main reasons I picked this book up. I was very drawn to the trailer when I first saw it back in December. After I recieved a Barnes & Noble gift card and realized that it was a book I scurried to order it.

To start off with, let's talk about the good. This book has a very original and romantic plot. Most zombie books make the zombies the bad guys but this book seemed to dwell a bit deeper and showed you the destroyed world from a zombie's perspective.  It shows that every bad situation always has something good in it, which in this case is R.

R has a very cool personality. He is really sweet and caring and is actually TRYING to be humane. Most of the other zombies in this book are just sort of walking around with no thoughts. I also really enjoyed Julie's character. She shows that women can be pretty tough. I love her character development throughout the book, as well as her and R's relationship growth.

Now, for the bad. The climax of the book seems to come REALLY late in this book. Like, 40-50 pages left in the book late. Also, the "climax" was very short and relatively uneventful. Honestly, I expected this kick butt fight scene but it ended up being pretty chill and short. The book kind of just goes along like a river. No crazy twists or anything but, besides that, the book was pretty good.

With all of that said, I am going to give this book... 4 stars! A pretty good book with a very different and intersesting plot. I would reccomend this book to everyone. I definitely want to pick up the prequels to this book, as well as the next book coming out in 2014!
